Application process

  2. Refer to the audition requirements for your instrument/s located below.
  3. Start preparing and practicing your audition. 
  4. Record your audition in ONE TAKE, no stopping and starting during the video is allowed. Percussionist are allowed to submit 2 videos, one with the snare drum/drum kit requirements and one with the mallet percussion requirements.
  5. Upload your video to youtube following these instructions - Youtube Upload Instructions
  6. Complete the following form to submit the audition video - forms.office.com/r/Z3iRCfsfbw

Approximate standard of each ensembles are;
  • Concert Band - Approx. AMEB Grade 2+ - Conducted by Lemin Luu
  • Symphonic Band - Approx. AMEB Grade 4+ - Conducted by Lemin Luu
  • Jazz Ensemble - Approx. AMEB Grade 3+ - Conducted by Tim Collins

Audition Requirements

Students must prepare the following for the audition;
  • Own Choice Piece (30 seconds max)
  • Scales chosen from the provided list (1 Major & Harmonic Minor for Concert Band & Jazz Ensemble, 2 Major & Harmonic Minor for Symphonic Band) and Rudiments (percussion only)
  • Set Piece (links below)

All auditions must be filmed in one take, no edits or cuts are allowed in the video.
Percussion may submit two videos, one for snare drum and the other for mallets if they aren't able to film both in the same space.
